Recorded on 21 November 2018 - Wise County Texas
Members of WCVG participated as Honor Guard for the funeral of Korean War Vet, Jessie Monroe on Jan 14, 2019. Jessie is Father-in-law, to WCVG Member, Paul Duffley.
Our good friend and WCVG member, John Norcross died today, August 16, 2019. It was sudden and unexpected.

Rest in Peace John Norcross
It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of the "Heart and Soul" of the Wise County Veterans Group and the Director of our Veterans Museum in Bridgeport.
Bob had become ill with COVID-19 and spent a week in the ICU until his passing this past Friday.
Plans for a memorial service are being made, but it is the plan of the WCVG to include a Remembrance of Bob Johnson on Veterans Day at the Veterans Park in Decatur as part of our annual Veterans Day Ceremony on November 11.

Finally, there certainly is no obligation to attend these breakfast gatherings if you feel uncomfortable about it or are concerned about exposure to the virus, no need to explain to anyone if you are reluctant to attend.
2. Bridgeport Citywide Garage Sale
We will be participating in the Bridgeport Citywide Garage Sale held on April 16th and 17th (Fri and Sat).
Ann Ayres will be managing the WCVG Museum Location. She says that people begin coming very early on Friday morning so that if you have something to bring, you need to get their early too. All proceeds of anything you bring will go to support the Museum and the WCVG general fund. Anne says that she will price the items for you, if you like. So if you have white elephants, odds and ends, old furniture or any items that you do not want around the house anymore, just bring it to the Museum parking lot as early as possible on Friday Morning, anything brought the night before, will be unprotected. A map of all garage sales, including ours, will be available at City Hall.
3. Mel Lester has asked me to send out the following information:
Please tell everyone, who may have given a uniform to Bob Johnson, that we have had to move those from Bob's house and we don't have room to store them at the museum. If someone would like to have a uniform back that was given to Bob, they can stop by the museum and I'll try to locate it and give it back. If they don't want it back, we will need to dispose of it. If they can't get to the museum, they can call Mel at: 940-255-9359 and I'll work with them to keep it until we can get it back to them.
