The WCVG has successfully restored a 1961 USMC M38-A1 Jeep that belonged to Bob Johnson. It was Bob's dream to restore this vintage Jeep for the Veteran's Museum. Unfortunately, after his passing in October 2020, the project had yet to be initiated. In 2023, WCVG acquired the Jeep and formed a Committee to oversee its restoration. The project began with over a year of support from the Bridgeport High School Auto Shop Class, led by instructor Scott Carpenter, along with guidance from BISD Superintendent Dr. Amy Ellis. The restoration was ultimately brought to fruition by our member Joe Wyatt, whose automotive restoration skills were instrumental in rebuilding the Jeep, which is now operational. The crew dedicated two days a week for six months to this effort. A heartfelt thank you goes out to Joe for his invaluable contributions.
